Traditional braces are what most people think of when orthodontic treatment comes to mind. This method uses metal brackets, bands, and wires to move your teeth into their correct positions. You’ll come in every few weeks to make sure your treatment is on course and to get your braces tightened by your dentist.
Each patient is different, with unique needs and circumstances. Consequently, it is difficult to quote a price on your treatment with metal braces until we’ve had a chance to perform an examination and work up a treatment plan. We encourage you to come in for an initial consultation, so we can design a treatment plan just for you and give you an accurate price on your orthodontic care.
Keeping your teeth clean while wearing braces is similar to your usual oral hygiene routine. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush, and try to avoid brushing too aggressively, so you don’t risk damaging your brackets and wires. It’s also wise to replace your toothbrush more often than you normally would. Flossing is different because it requires a special tool to thread the dental floss around your braces.
